This third North Sea Hydrogen Ports and Maritime Conference organised by European Policy Solutions looks at a number of policy initiatives that will emphasise the key role that the ports and maritime sector must play in the creation of a hydrogen economy. The role of hydrogen in energy transition has been more and more crucial and there has been much activity in the North Sea Region.
This event will look at the advantages that North Sea ports have in developing regional hydrogen economies as hydrogen valleys and the steps that ports are taking to create these valleys. Hydrogen transportation will be a key enabler for the wider European hydrogen economy as some areas of the North Sea will be exporters of hydrogen while other areas will be net importers. Bunkering will also be a critical issue for the creation of a short sea shipping network in the North Sea Region and this will be discussed at the Conference in a session looking at the transport of hydrogen.
Joe Najduch, Shetland Islands Council Future Energy project manager, will be presenting during the morning session.
