This event is hosted by the Shetland Islands Council’s Climate Change Programme teams & the ORION Clean Energy Project and involves local organisations working towards a greener, cleaner energy system.
The Showcase is open to the public, and we welcome anyone that would like join us in talking about climate change and energy in Shetland. A number of organisations will have stalls and representatives to talk about the challenges they face and the work they are doing. There are a wide range of topics from electric transport to domestic energy to energy generation!
Climate change is one of the biggest challenges we have faced, and significant changes are required to protect our planet. Everyone has a role to play during the transition to net zero, and businesses in Shetland are already leading the way.
In order to overcome these significant challenges we need to aim for a holistic approach to Shetland’s energy future. Information sharing on future and current energy systems is vital in our transition. This includes domestic properties, small medium and large scale business as well as large scale energy infrastructure changes.
The Shetland Energy Showcases provide an opportunity for you to find out more information on the changes and support available during the transition to net zero.
Bring your bairns! The showcase will host an activity zone in the meeting room for younger attendees for hands on learning about how our energy is generated and different things we can do to adress climate change.
